Some summer day are just too hot. Even the air-conditioning can't seem to keep the inside of your rig comfortable. And if you are boondocking without A/C, there may not be enough breeze even with all the windows open to keep the inside livable.
That's where roll or wrap insulation comes in. Sold in hardware stores, you can buy this foil-backed insulation in various widths, which you can unroll to the size you need, and cut easily with a scissors. I keep a piece cut to fit all the way around my expansive front windows. The curtains don't stop nearly enough heat coming in. The insulation is said to stop up to 97% of reflective heat.
I also have smaller pieces cut to fit my side windows when the sun is beating against them. They're lightweight and the smaller ones will store flat when not in use.
