Top down window shades
Do you like seeing out your windows but don’t want to give up your privacy in tight campgrounds? This cheap tip solves both.
Buy a regular old-time roll-up shade in a color that matches your décor and a width to fit your window.
Mount the shade, not at the top of the window as is customary, but at the bottom, so that it rolls up—not down to increase your privacy (called “top down – bottom up” or just "top down").
This leaves a viewing space at the top of the window to see out and allow light in without leaving an open view of your stomach at the bottom of the window.
Screw a small eye or hook in at the top of the window and attach a string to the center of the wood stiffener at the end of the shade. Tie the string off to the hook to keep it from falling down. You can adjust the shade to any height.
Or you can buy them ready-made---and more expensive--at online sites like Blinds Galore.
