As families head home from vacations, campgrounds open up

Some schools have already started the 2011-12 school year and campgrounds are becoming noticeably less crowded as families head home from vacations.

This is a good time to get into some of those state and national parks where booked up reservations prevented wanderers and fulltimers who don't make reservations from finding a spot.

Call ahead and talk to campground personnel about their situation and then head into the parks early before the afternoon rush and you are likely to find a campsite.
