If you are one of the early returning snowbirds to the northern forests, and especially if you plan on boondocking, you will likely find that following a winter of heavy snowfall downed trees or broken limbs blocking forest service roads that have yet to be cleared by over-worked rangers with tight budgets.
If you don’t have them already, add some useful road clearing tools to your tool box: a bow saw (photo) capable of cutting up a foot-diameter tree, long-handled axe for lopping off smaller branches, and a heavy rope for pulling them out of the way with your RV. You will find that these tools come in useful for other chores now that you have them.
