Enroute camping at fishing access points

When passing through national or state forests and you would just like to find a campsite for the night before moving on in the morning, look for fishing access points along streams and rivers and where the road crosses these waterways.

Fisherman often have created parking spots that are large enough and accessible enough to use for a campsite.

The advantage is that you save time looking for a campground, the sound of rushing water could cancel out any road noise, access takes little time, and you would be camping in a scenic woodsy setting.

  1. Done it many times and these usually turn out to be the most memorable stops.
