If you plan on an extended stay either boondocking or in a no hook-up campground--or camp-hosting-- you can save a trip to fill up your propane tank by installing a T-off kit at your propane valve and adding an extra portable propane tank.
You can also use the extra tank for running your gas barbecue, or use the T-kit to hook up your barbecue directly to the RV's built-in propane tank.
Kits are available from RV supply stores and include instructions on the simple installation.
