Don't let the dreaded green corrosion shut down your electrical system

Corrosion around your battery terminals can cause your electrical system to abruptly shut down, whether it's your starting battery or your house batteries.

And when it happens it seems to be for no reason causing consternation and concern over the cause. You can prevent these sudden shut downs by removing and cleaning the terminals and connectors with a wire brush. Re-attach and then coat with a battery terminal protector spray found in any auto parts store.

But no cleaning and spraying job will last forever. Every few weeks open your engine compartment and visually check your terminals. If you see that dreaded green corrosion, it is time to re-do the cleaning and spraying.
