When traveling many of us don't feel we need the services or amenities of a full service campground when we just want to stop, eat, sleep, and get on the road again. And with the price of campgrounds these days, many don't want to shell out the $30 or $40 just to sleep and eat.

But by planning ahead you may be able to avoid campground charges by staying a commercial establishments that permit overnigh stays, such as Walmart, Kmart, Cracker Barrel restaurants, some casinos, Pilot-Flying J truck stops--which give you a double bonus by offering discounts on gasoline, propane, and other services--and others.
