Protect yourself from identity thieves

Dumpster divers and aluminum can collectors can be found in all parts of the country. They not only look for cans to recycle and things to use or sell, but also will tear open trash bags to look for credit card receipts, account numbers, and other information that they could use in nefarious ways--such as identity theft.

On the road when you throw out your trash, be extra careful what you throw away. Burn, shred, or tear up any papers that have account numbers, signatures, and addresses--anything that will identify you--and stop the bad guys in their tracks.
